penticton

Me before leaving the hotel in Vernon ahhhh BIG HAIR DONT CARE *hair flip*

So yesterday we left Vernon and headed for Penticton. We didn't really do much besides drive around farms and visit scenic places. We went to this giant hill where at the top there was a nice view.

Walking up that path felt more steep than it looked, and it felt like I was going to literally slip because my sandals have like no grip but yeah. It's actually a pretty peaceful place. And even though the sky doesn't look like it in that photo, it was actually really really warm and sunny. I actually love how sunny the Okanagan is. I think the temperatures were over 25 degrees celsius which doesn't happen much for Vancouver. But there's some photos I took at the top.

Idk I really like the look of these photos. Hahaha but yeah. We also visited this park/beach area with a giant peach concession stand (which I googled and found out it's called Rotary Park) and it was surprisingly hot.

Being here made me realize what a nice happy place this is. It was so sunny and hot and across the street from the lake was just rows and rows of cute little restaurants with their patios filled with people eating and sitting, and shops with inflatable pool items and swimming gear, and tons of people just walking around, and it just looked like a nice place to live. But at the same time, I don't think I could deal with living in such a small place. I'm too much of a city person to move to the valley. Plus it feels strange being in a place where Asians are the minority.

We intended to find a u-pick farm so we could pick some fruit, however there weren't very many around, so we ended up just buying some fresh local fruits. We went to a farm where there was a really kind old East Indian couple with a friendly Rottweiler selling cherries and peaches and such. We ended up buying A LOT of fruit from them (I think like 23 pounds of cherries and like 30 pounds of peaches????? ya my parents are cray). We actually went to them twice; we went yesterday and we also came back again today to buy more. My parents engaged in conversation with them except it was kind of hard because both of them are, well, fobs I guess, so it mainly consisted in them repeating what they were saying a bunch of times and the other person going "ahhhhh yes you mean ___" and answering. Meanwhile I was petting the Rottweiler because he just looked so lonely and sad and bored. I think he was an old dog because he was just really slow and calm. As we were trying through acres and acres of farmland, we came across some deer!

We didn't get very close because we didn't want to scare them away because they looked kind of wary of us. There were a couple fawns too! They were so cute. There's just something about fawns that I think are adorable. I remember before when I saw so many photos of them on tumblr and stories of how people found lost fawns and I wanted to find one too hahahah.

Anyway we went to White Spot to eat afterwards and I got the truffled mushroom flatbread and I didn't take a photo of it because I was so hungry and it was so good and I completely forgot. My sister gave me her Caesar salad that came with her burger and I ate that too hahah. Afterwards my sister and I split a fresh blueberry pie.

The sky was getting really cloudy but it was pretty and still warm. Look at McDonalds there lol. While we were outside on the patio, there was some lightning which I totally disregarded until I realized that it was lightning (idk in my head I was like, oh something just flashed, ANYWAY.....) and yeah. When we got back to our inn (this time we stayed in Best Western and we had a little suite so my sister and I shared a room, my parents shared a room, and my brother took the sofa bed) there was thunder and lightning and at one point (okay I know I'm addicted to the internet and social networking okay) THE WIFI WENT OUT AND I ALMOST CRIED BC HELLO I NEED INTERNET TO SURVIVE hahaha and yeah. So we called the front desk and the guy there (I think the manager) had a high voice and told us he'd fix the wifi and eventually he did and yeah. We spent the rest of the evening just chillin in the suite and yeahhhh.

I made some decaf black tea and just laid there in bed and yeah meanwhile my sister was doing homework and studying for her university physics stuff (lol @ her). It was really great having separate rooms from my parents because they like going to bed at like 10 pm which is WAY too early for me so since they had their own little room they just went to bed at whatever time they pleased meanwhile my siblings and I stayed up til about 1 pm until my dad got up and told us to sleep hahaha.

Did I mention that I finally went to physiotherapy????? Okay well I went on friday FINALLY after delaying this since January (according to my doctor's note lol oops) and my physiotherapist is a nice friendly lady with eyelash extensions (I noticed okay). I had to do various stretches and core exercises because I have horrible posture where my spine is too curved inward at my lower back thus my muscles there are REALLY tight. Apparently I need to strengthen my core and yeah. So she told me to do these exercises daily until I book another appointment with her in about a week and yeah. Yesterday for the first time in many days, I laid down in bed with my lower back feeling fine!!!! I was so nice because lately when I lie down my lower back literally feels like it hurts more and I have to put a pillow under my knees if I'm lying on my back or between my knees when I'm lying on my side to help (I googled this okay idk but it works) and yeah. The first session was $60 though and I have to continue paying for each session and I feel horrible about it because my parents have to pay but at the same time I feel like I really need this to improve my back. Once I start getting paid, I think I'm going to try to pay for some of it too.

And then this morning it was time to leave and go home!!

(I'm a snapchat obsessed bitch ok)

OMG BTW DO YOU SEE THAT THE BOW OF MY IPHONE CASE CAME OFF???? Omg I really have to glue it back on because it just isn't the same without the bow and quite frankly it looks retarded without it omg. Okay anyway.

So yeah we drove home and we got home at around 5 pm and I literally fell onto my bed in happiness because I really missed my bed even though it was only 2 nights without it but still. This trip wasn't very eventful but at the same time it was nice to get away.

And can I just say that 'Ride' by Lana Del Rey is one of the most beautiful songs to ever exist??? Omg I heard about it so long ago but I never really bothered to listen to it until now and it was now literally one of my favourite Lana Del Rey songs.

I was listening to it almost the entire trip and I don't even know how many times I listened to it but it was on repeat like forever. This is literally one of my favourite songs by her now and I don't know how many times I said 'literally' here now but this is LITERALLY BEAUTIFUL. I think my favourite songs by her are probably 'Ride', 'Blue Jeans', and 'National Anthem'. Ahhhhhhhhhhh okay I'm done.
